Who We Serve
Homelessness is a tragic circumstance at any age and youth who find themselves in this situation are especially vulnerable to the dangers of abuse, addiction and despair found on the streets of America and abroad.
The great majority of these youth come from backgrounds of abuse in their homes, in the foster care system or have been rejected outright by whatever fragile network they had clung to as children. The youth we assist overseas have often been orphaned as a result of the terrible HIV/AIDS epidemic which has resulted in over 16 million orphans worldwide.
Our aim is to reach these youth early with counseling, and tangible opportunities so they can learn basic job skills which will increase their confidence and self esteem. The youth we serve are tough, bright and capable. They just need someone to reach out and give them a hand, get them up on their feet and help them move on to lives of dignity, hope and self reliance.
